Kathy 'Kat' Dumais began creating jewelry and designing embroidery embellishments for clothing as a teen in the early seventies. By 1975 I was offered a position in Hawaii working strictly with salt water cultured pearls, grading, sorting, polishing, drilling and setting into cast pieces of gold & silver.

My attraction to color and texture took me from teaching cooking in exotic cuisines to becoming a makeup artist for several different major cosmetic lines. This interest also found me as a window dresser and display manager for high end department stores and then a licensed lighting designer for residential concerns. All of these pursuits allowed me to work with color,texture and coordinating to make us and our surroundings the most flattering and fun they can be.

After all these exciting and some challenging explorations I have come to a place, and a time that I am going right back to my first love. Sitting in a room surrounded by colorful shiney objects and creating lasting original pieces to share and enjoy with people that share the desire to feel unique and look their best.
